The dictionary definition of flaneur is loafer or vagabond. I ascribe to the notion of flaneur as a wanderer and observer. Long walks on the beach are not for me, however, if the invitation is an evening stroll over the Burrard Bridge to downtown Vancouver, then I'm in. I find my flaneur site makes me question the changes that are constantly evolving the landscape of Vancouver.

South East Vancouver
It was a perfect night for a walkabout. I headed down the Mid-Town bike path, through Mountainview Cemetary - I practice walking backwards through the stand of pines in the cemetary - and out down Main Street. Good Day Pizza is still there, but the building beside it has been demolished. I wonder how many good days are left for the pizza house?

If It's Too Loud - You're Too Old - revisited
A truism revealed.
If it's TOO LOUD then you're TOO OLD!!!!
Ahh - remember when we used to yell that at our parents?
I was telling our homestay student Veronique about the saying. She asked me:"Is that because the old people are deaf?"
Well, isn't that right?
After all these years of having the volume at 11,
we are old - and we are deaf!
The joke's on WHO?
Turn that music down - hahah
